Website vs. Facebook Page

Having a Business Website vs. a Facebook Page for your Business..which is better?

There is lots of school of thought about this issue that could sway you one way or the other this is just my take on the subject.  A website and a Facebook page both have a purpose and it's called building brand.

Website

  1. It's yours you can control everything that goes on it from colors, layout, pictures & content.
  2. For local goods and services consumers look on Google for websites of companies .
  3. Websites carry more weight when Google index's search results, Facebook not even close.
  4. Websites come mobile optimized to make it easier for the consumer.
  5. Full analytics come with websites.
  6. Walmart, Amazon & Target have a website and Facebook page at the same time, those companies know a thing or two about branding.

Facebook

  1. You can post a few pictures and make posts, but on the same page as yours Facebook will advertise your competition.
  2. You have to update it everyday.
  3. Google downgrades Facebook search results.
  4. You constantly are posting to people that like your business.  NOT NEW CLIENTS!
  5. Facebook tells you how many people like your page.
  6. It's free but you get what you pay for.
In conclusion Facebook in conjunction with a website makes for a good marketing decision.
Websites are here to stay and if you don't have one 80% of consumers will not think that your a legitimate business, if you want to grow your business get a website before your competition does.

Watch out for the back end costs

I hear from customers all the time my website was free to have built and I only pay a small fee per month.

So when I ask them does it cost you to make changes? Why yes of course sometimes as high as $150 just to add some pictures.  Its your website why do people pay to make changes to their own website.  I know some clients before they came to me that would not make a website change in fear of a larger artwork charge from their previous vendor.

At hibu we never charge for making changes to your site email me today for more details Greg.Romans@hibu.com or www.webconsultantdesmoines.com.
